Drawing on thirty years’ experience as a senior leader within corporate communications and relations, I advise companies and organizations on how to manage challenges and opportunities related to their communication, reputation and relations. Three aspects of leadership that are intrinsically linked and key to the success of any organization.

As Senior Vice President and global head of Corporate Affairs in Novo Nordisk, my responsibilities included communication and branding, corporate sustainability and public affairs. Through successes and failures, I learned what it takes to build a meaningful corporate brand, handle critical issues, create trustful relationships with stakeholders, make employees proud and drive organizational change.

Whatever the challenge, whatever the opportunity an organization is facing, a well thought-through communication and stakeholder engagement strategy is essential. What I offer is experience-based counsel on the do’s and don’ts, the pros and cons of strategic alternatives, and the ability to engage senior management in defining the best course of action.

I don’t come armed with a one-size-fits-all solution or process for how to handle an issue or opportunity. In all of what I do, I apply a pragmatic approach. I know all too well that what in theory appears to be the right thing to do, often is not feasible due to conflicting demands. What will work in real life is what matters.

Integrity, ambition, simplicity and respect for other people are key traits of my personality. I’m a firm believer that a simple solution is often the best solution and that you can come a long way by treating people respectfully. ‘Make sense, be human and keep it simple’ is my mantra.
